BK 101: An Introduction to Bankruptcy
A NorthLegal Webinar presented November 16, 2023

The free COVID money is running out, delinquencies are rising, and bankruptcy numbers are beginning to climb. Most experts predict it will get worse before it gets better. If your financial instition hasn't already taken steps to be sure it knows and complies with the rules, now is the time to do so.
Unfortunately, bankruptcy law is a complex and ever-changing subject — attorneys and even courts often vigorously disagree about what the law is and how to applly it. Just "figuring it out as you go" can lead to lost opportunities to recover unpaid debt, wasted time, and unnecessary attorneys fees. It can also cause serious mistakes that result in expensive litigation and court sanctions. It is important that collectors (and those who supervise and audit collectors) know the rules. Having at least a basic understanding of bankruptcy can also help lenders make better loans!
This introductory-level NorthLegal webinar provides new collectors with a foundation upon which to build their bankruptcy knowledge; experienced collectors with a chance to be sure their information is current and on-track;, and lenders, compliance officers, and credit committee members with "big picture" information that will help them manage bankruptcy procedures and improve lending.
Participants will learn:
and much more!
